This year, we've made significant strides in our commitment to environmental sustainability, testing approximately 6000 samples through our six laboratories across the globe. A remarkable majority of these tests were conducted in-house at FQM Minera Panama, our esteemed client.
In light of the challenging situation faced by First Quantum Minerals in Panama, which sadly had to close its operations, we've decided to focus our annual One Tree Planted contribution to Panama. This decision aligns with our dedication to supporting our clients and the communities they impact. Despite the closure being a loss for the country, considering the positive influences the project had, we stand in solidarity with them.
As a token of our support and commitment, we're planting all 6000 trees in Panama, turning them into "Christmas trees" - our present to Panama and the world. This gesture goes beyond the festive season, symbolizing hope, resilience, and the continuous cycle of growth and renewal.
Though this closure has affected us, we're adapting and moving forward. We will be transferring our device to FQM Zambia Trident mine to continue our vital geometallurgical and mine-to-mill projects.
